CORYDON, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Patients arriving for appointments Thursday morning at  Dr. Paul Kelty's Corydon officer were shocked to be turned away, and nearly a dozen Indiana State Troopers and investigators with the Indiana Attorney General’s office raided his practice.

Investigators have not charged Kelty with any crime at this point, however, during a news conference Thursday, they announced they’re looking into claims he committed Medicaid fraud by ordering medically unnecessary procedures, sexually abused patients, and over-prescribed painkillers to patients including pregnant women, resulting in babies born addicted.

According to the Harrison County Prosecutor Nicolas Haverstock, Kelty has prescribed more than a million pills since 2000. And, since 2008, six of his patients have died from drug over doses.

Haverstock asks anyone with information about Kelty including patients to contact the prosecutor’s office.
