LAS VEGAS (WHAS11) – Fifty-three women vying to be the next Miss America are in Las Vegas preparing for next Saturday’s big show.

Among the contestants are Miss Kentucky Jessica Casebolt and Miss Indiana, Merriebeth Cox.

All of the contestants will be judged in several categories including swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview.

Miss Kentucky is from Pikeville and she said her evening gown for the pageant is "100 percent Kentucky made."

“It wasn’t hard really to choose what to wear. It was really fun. I designed my own evening gown. Heather French Henry, who was Miss America in 2000 and it was beaded by one of my friends Bob Haven in Kentucky. So my dress is completely made in Kentucky,” Casebolt said.

The Miss America Pageant will air live on ABC and WHAS11 next Saturday beginning at 9 p.m.
