Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Metro Ethics Commission decided Wednesday to move forward with the complaint against Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin.
Shanklin's attorney had filed a motion to dismiss the complaint but the commission overruled it.
They set a hearing date of Oct. 25 to determine if the councilwoman violated as many as six ethics codes.
Shanklin is under fire about the money she used for a program that benefited her family. There are also questions about her grandson who worked in her office and how he was paid while he was incarcerated.
