LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The coroner has identified a man killed in a shooting in the Portland neighborhood Thursday.
Quintin J. Moss, 24, died at University Hospital Thursday night. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound.
The shooting happened in the 100 block of 30th Street. The LMPD Homicide unit has taken over the investigation. Spokesperson Alicia Smiley said, “Of course we will be canvassing the area, talking with neighbors, and also trying to determine specifically who our victim is so we can speak with his friends and family.”
Police marked a large crime scene because they found “secondary evidence” some distance from where they believe the shooting happened, possibly because the victim traveled down the street before collapsing. “That’s what we’re still investigating,” said Smiley, “Again, we have evidence in that area. Once we know what all that evidence is and where it’s located, then we should have more details.”
If you have any information about the shooting, you’re asked to call LMPD’s crime tip line at 574-LMPD.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
