LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Paving work is being completed on the southbound lanes of the Kennedy Bridge. Traffic patterns will change on I-65 on the bridge on Thursday.
Traffic will be switched to one lane for northbound I-65 and two lanes for southbound I-65 on Thursday morning until July 13.
The exit ramps from southbound I-65 to eastbound I-64/northbound I-71 and westbound I-64 are scheduled to reopen Wednesday evening.
Additionally, crews will close the ramps from westbound I-64 and southbound I-71 to northbound I-65 and the northbound I-65 exit ramp to Jeffersonville (Exit 0). These ramps will be closed by 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 5 and are scheduled to remain closed through July 13.
Motorists traveling on westbound I-64 and southbound I-71 should follow the signed detour via westbound I-64 into southern Indiana to eastbound I-265 and then access northbound I-65.
The exit ramps from northbound I-65 to eastbound I-64/northbound I-71 and westbound I-64 will remain closed through 5 a.m. on July 9. Motorists should follow the signed detour via I-264.
The following ramps will remain closed for the duration of the project:
· The exit ramp from eastbound I-64 to northbound I-65 in Kentucky
· The exit ramp from southbound I-65 to Market Street in Indiana
· The entrance ramp from Court Avenue to southbound I-65 in Indiana
The project costs $18.2 million and the work is scheduled to be complete by August 15.
