Indiana girl's program to help the needy has another successful year

(WHAS11) -- A southern Indiana girl with a dream to help keep Kentuckiana warm has come through again this year.

Makenzie's Coat Closet drive collected 3200 coats this year and the give away was held at St. Vincent De Paul.

Makenzie Smith of Borden, Indiana has been collecting coats for the needy for seven years. some coats were also donated to public schools in Floyd and Clark counties.

The giveaway wrapped up Tuesday afternoon but they do take donations throughout the year. Click here for more information.
