LOUISVILLE, Ky- World famous jockey Robby Albarado will be officially sentenced next month after a jury found him guilty of assaulting his girlfriend.
The famed jockey now faces a $500 fine for fourth degree wanton assault. That basically means he did not intend to injure his girlfriend, but was reckless as they fought over a cell phone.
Albarado will be sentenced on August 14, likely facing a $500 fine.
However, he might not escape jail time altogether.
Last year the famed jockey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault, and was given two years probation.
The county attorney has moved to revoke that probation, meaning he could still be heading to jail. That hearing is July 18.
