SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A former Shepherdsville youth minister has been arrested on sodomy and sex abuse charges. According to police, the youth director for the Trinity Life Center Church is accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old church member for almost a year.
Bryan James Dockery, 26, of Shepherdsville was arrested on July 4. He has since been released.
According to a police report Dockery allegedly engaged in numerous sexual acts with a 15-year-old boy who was a member of the church. The pastor declined to comment further. The church secretary tells WHAS11 that Dockery is no longer with the church.
Police say the acts began shortly after Dockery arrived at Trinity Life Center from August 2011 to June of 2012. The crimes were reported to have taken place at both the church and Dockery's residence. We visited the home today but Dockery nor his wife were there. His mother-in-law told us the family would not be commenting.
Shepherdsville Police are investigating to see whether other youths may be involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shepherdsville Police Department at 502-957-1001, 502-921-1000, or the anonymous tip line at 502-215-1588.
