(WHAS 11)-- A couple in California welcomed three little ones into the world last Thursday. Together the triplets weighed a 20-pounds breaking the current heaviest triplet’s record of 18-pounds.
Now the parents are filing papers to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
New mom Brittany Deen ate a 6,000 calorie a day diet to feed her boys while they developed. That's a meal every two hours including a dozen eggs over the course of a day!
“It's kind of exciting. It makes me feel like kind of justified in, I guess, all that weight gain was for something” said Deen.
Deen carried her triplet boys for 37-weeks.
