BULLITT CO., Ky. (WHAS11) -- Today, youngsters involved in the court system in Bullitt County received some much needed help from the WHAS Crusade for Children.
"On behalf of the WHAS Crusade for Children I'm so happy to be here with the guys from the Zoneton Fire Department who helped raise money for the Crusade this year, so that together we can present a check for $12,500,” Dawn Lee, CEO for the WHAS Crusade for Children, said.
Cindy Prestigiacomo the director of court appointed special attorneys of Bullitt County says the Crusade funding is crucial.
"Right now we have cases open with 155 children. But there's close to 500 in the Bullitt County court system on the dependency, abuse and neglect docket," Prestigiacomo said.
Cindy says Crusade funding will help CASA to meet its goal of serving all the children in Bullitt County who need legal representation.
