LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- An event Monday afternoon returned to the West End in hopes of potentially bringing more than $15 million back to the residents of West Louisville.
It’s called the "Treasure Finder" program.
The program works with local volunteers to establish a phone bank, review property listings and call residents to inform them of potential unclaimed property.
The state treasurer says they are trying to find the owners of properties that are deemed abandoned.
Treasurer Todd Hollenbach says there is no statute of limitations on any of the properties and anyone can make a claim as the rightful heir.
