LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A train derailment off Dixie Highway near Katherine Station Road Monday morning has multiple homes to be evacuated. People within a two mile radius of the derailment are being told to stay indoors and keep their windows closed.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter south of the train wreck at Muldraugh Elementary School at 202 Wendell Street, which is off of Dixie Highway south of West Point, Ky. The school can hold about 100 people. There will be food, drinks, bedding and clothing available at the shelter.  It will remain open as long as emergency crews keep an evacuation, voluntary evacuation or shelter-in-place order active.

The Red Cross also set up a location north of the train wreck at Highway 44 and Dixie Highway that will only provide food and drinks for people in the area.
