The411 with Sherlene Shanklin: It's all about good versus evil but the twist to the story is who's actually the good guy? "Gun Hill" is a crime drama starring actor Larenz Tate. He plays two characters in the film. One is "Bird" and the other is "Trane". The identical twin brothers take two different career paths. Trane is a police officer and Bird spent several years in prison.
The brothers reunite only to be involved in a shootout where Trane is killed and Bird assumes the identity of his brother. The good brother also had a few secrets of his own so it’s sure to leave you on the edge of your seat.
I attended the screening of Gun Hill on June 21st in Nashville. The International Black Film Festival of Nashville, (IBFFN) and Black Entertainment Television, (BET) worked in collaboration to bring Tate, Director/Producer Reggie Bythewood and Composer Terence Blanchard to participate in a discussion after the screening.
I literally found myself ducking down in my seat a couple of times. I even yelled out several times along with many others in the theater. You’ll see what I’m talking about when you watch the film.
Prior to tonight's national premiere I talk to Bythewood about the film. Please click the link for a portion of the interview.
"Gun Hill" airs on BET tonight at 9:00 p.m (EST) Stay tuned for additional photos and interview clicks from Bythewood and actress Aisha Hinds.
