LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man was sentenced Monday in connection with a 19-year-old murder.
In January, Brian Sturgeon pleaded guilty to murdering Debra Wright after DNA evidence connected him to the crime.
Police said Sturgeon stabbed Wright several times and strangled her with an electric cord back in 1995. Blood found on Wright's neck matched Sturgeon's DNA and he was charged with murder.
Sturgeon, who is currently serving a 45-year murder sentence in South Carolina, was sentenced to 20 years for Wright's murder.
