Salinas scores with the fans as well as the ball

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. (WHAS11)—Tee Salinas got a standing ovation as his was announced in the starting line-up for North Oldham High School.

After running to the student section where he was greeted with cheers and applause, he ran back to the bench to prepare for the tip with the rest of his teammates.

Salinas has been the team’s manager, performing task like laundry and giving the team water bottles during time outs. He has been in this position since he was in the 6th grade, Salinas is now a senior at the high school.

He was born with down syndrome, but has always cheered on the Mustangs during each and every season.

Friday night, the team honored their long time manager, but letting him suit up and start the game for his favorite team.

The team is hoping to get the new teammate on SportsCenter with the hashtag GetTeeonSportsCenter.
