JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A Kentuckiana man could face up to 100 years in prison after being convicted of molesting a 9-year-old girl. John Dickey was found guilty on two counts of child molestation in Clark County, Ind. this week. But our investigation found the conviction was just the latest chapter in a long criminal history.

In 2003, a 9-year-old girl suffered through unimaginable abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriend in an apartment in Jeffersonville. Abuse so graphic, we've chosen not to describe in detail the crimes against her.

According to court documents, John Everitt Dickey molested the girl forcing her into silence by threatening to hurt her mother if she ever told...a threat backed by years of abuse. And those threats worked for years. Finally, in 2009, that girl, a 14-year-old at that time, found her voice.

The court papers detail her interviews with police as she described what Dickey did to her. They even include results from the polygraph test she took to corroborate her claims of abuse. Investigators found no signs of deception.

But, it seems his crimes against that young girl were only a snapshot of his twisted past...in Louisville, his lengthy arrest record is riddled with charges of assault, harassment, drug trafficking, and most notably, sexual abuse, rape, incest and sodomy. Court documents claim his father, whose name isn't included, has also been prosecuted on similar charges of molestation.

Dickey's victim has grown up...it's been nearly 10 years since she was molested. Finally, her abuser has been convicted of his crimes against her. All that remains is his sentencing.

Dickey's sentencing has been set for Nov. 19 in Clark County. Court officials say he could face up to 100 years behind bars.
