LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- All the rain and severe weather in Louisville is causing some cancellations and delays for the Derby Festival.
The rain thinned out the crowd down at the Derby Fest-a-Ville, but the music kept playing. People took cover under the interstate, under umbrellas, and some people had no choice and bought ponchos.
All of the rain and high water on the Ohio River have caused some changes to the Derby Festival. All of the vendors and amusement rides had to be moved further up on the Great Lawn. The rain and high winds canceled several events Thursday, including the Derby Festival Great Balloon Tour and Balloon Glimmer.
The Great Steamboat Race that was scheduled for May 4 has been rescheduled for June 29 because of the high waters on the Ohio River.
