LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A beloved grandmother with many children and grandchildren was found dead in her Pleasure Ridge Park apartment.
"I seen two young ladies across the street moving around screaming and crying. When they entered the apartment that's when I heard a louder scream," neighbor, Antwain Elliott, said.
Elliott describes the aftermath when family found a 63-year-old grandmother's body in a second floor apartment unit, decorated with wind chimes.
How she died is a mystery but police say it's foul play. It has left people in the quiet area nearly speechless.
"That's uncalled for... I mean what is she going to do?" a neighbor, Cornelius Walker, said.
The 5200 block of Sedge Court in PRP became a crime scene Thursday night.
"She was a very loving grandmother from the way the reaction was from her family," Elliot said.
Some neighbors were too shocked or scared to go on camera but revealed they never heard any gunshots or loud noises Thursday.
Police are investigating.
"... whether there was forced entry or whether or not anyone saw someone suspicious," Alicia Smiley, with Louisville Metro Police, said.
An autopsy is being performed to find the woman's exact cause of death. With so many unanswered questions, an uneasy feeling lingers.
"It's too close to home, way too close to home and me having a mother and father that lives here kind of scares me," Elliott said.
No arrests have been made. But police are looking for the woman's husband. There is no indication how he is connected to the crime, if at all.
