(WHAS11) -- A domestic situation that required Jeffersonville Police to call in the SWAT unit Monday morning, March 24, has come to a tragic end.

Negotiators were working with the suspect, but police said they heard a gunshot and found the a man dead inside the home.

Police were called to a home in the 1700 block Birchbark Lane around 8 a.m. Monday by a woman who said her ex-husband, 27-year-old Raymond Korb, showed up to the home with a gun. The woman and her children were able to leave the home without injury, but the ex-husband stayed inside and refused to come out.

The standoff with police lasted about five hours. WHAS11's Brittany Gonzalez has more in the video above on what happened before the man turned the gun on himself.
