TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man is recovering at UofL Hospital Wednesday evening after he was stabbed and left in a parking lot.

A witness tells WHAS11 that a white male fell out the back door of a vehicle in the parking lot of Elk Creek Restaurant and Grocery in Taylorsville Wednesday afternoon.

The man was yelling for help, and had a stab wound in his neck.  Business owner Lanny Hollar says he ran after the vehicle while another man called 911.

“It’s like things you see on television. It doesn't happen in real life. So but this is the society we live in and we all think, especially out here in Spencer County that we're all safe but nowadays nobody's safe anywhere,” Lanny Hollar, a witness, said.

The victim was flown to UofL Hospital. Kentucky State Police are investigating what happened and they hope to gather more information when they interview the victim.
