(WHAS11) - Is it a hoax or the real thing?

Police in Kentucky and Indiana are investigating a suspicious note found in a restroom.

It's a plea for help from a kid who says he and his sister were kidnapped.

The note was written on notebook paper and attached to the men's bathroom mirror at a rest stop just before the Bardstown exit off I-65.

This is what some of the note says:

“We from Indiana, the man in this truck made us leave with him from pilot. We in a big white and red truck that says First Fleet in red.”

The note looks like it was written by a child who goes on to say the driver is taking them to Hopkinsville.

The author says he and his sister, Laura, were taken from a Pilot truck stop but authorities don't know which Pilot.

Police in Bullitt County say they don't see this kind of thing often and if it is a hoax someone could face charges.

Authorities in Hopkinsville have been notified and are trying to reach the truck driver.

Detectives ran the names of the kids in the database for missing children and say there isn't a match.

But they are concerned enough to ask the public to report any information they may have about this case to solve the mystery.
