LOUISVILLE, (WHAS11) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for the 7-year-old girl who died Monday night at Kosair Children's Hospital after being struck by a car on Buechel Bank Road near the intersection of Sanford Ave around 5:30 p.m.
Ayiana Osburn's visitation will be held Friday at G.C. Williams in Louisville from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Her funeral will be held on Sunday in Springfield, Ky.
Police say 29-year-old Michael Penick was charged Monday night with operating on suspended license and no insurance. His mother said she called him right after the accident.
"He said, 'I hit a child. I said you hit a child? He said, yeah she ran out in front of me,'" Carolyn Penick said.
The family of Aiyana Osburn just got off a TARC bus after a trip to Wal-Mart. They were crossing the street behind the bus when Aiyana was hit.
"It was horrible because she was not talking. I kept saying, Aiyana, Aiyana and she was not doing anything," step-mom Sarah Ghoded said.
"She was trying to run and I said, 'No, quit running and I had a hold of her hand," Ghoded said.
Penick drove about 1,000 feet down the road before he stopped and came back to the scene to talk with police.
