LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – One driver is lucky to be alive after an accident on I-64 West Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. when MetroSafe dispatchers say a Ford F-150 was overturned near the 15 mile marker near the Hurstbourne Lane and Watterson Trail exits.
Police believe the driver of the vehicle may have hit a concrete barrier and a guardrail causing the car to flip, ejecting the driver before it came to rest.
Witnesses on the scene told responders the driver got up and walked towards the truck.
Police say the driver and passenger were both alert and responsive but suffered lacerations to their shoulders and arms.
Both were transported to University Hospital where their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
LMPD Traffic Unit says the investigation is ongoing,
