LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police say they've busted a major drug trafficking operation allegedly headquartered in a quiet,  upscale Jeffersontown neighborhood.

Neighbors say they suspected something was up, since for more than two years, they've seen a constant parade of fancy cars with out-of-state license plates in their quiet neighborhood.

But when they found out exactly what police said was being sold there, they were shocked.

“It's a very nice, quiet close neighborhood. We've got plenty of families,” said Misty Albrecht, a Brook Farm resident.

She said it is the type of subdivision families move to to get away from traffic and noise.

But for the past two years, neighbors say they've seen quite a lot of activity surrounding a rental house located at 4215 Brook Farm Place.

“We had all kinds of different cars coming in and out all times throughout the night,” said Albrecht.

“The license plates were from Michigan. There was a car from New York, one from Virginia. The Bentley was from California,” said another neighbor, who didn’t want to give his name.

Police say the cars were paid for with money earned from trafficking.

“The value of the vehicles alone was approximately a quarter of a million dollars,” said Lt. Rich Pearson of the LMPD Narcotics Unit.

The drugs trafficked out of the house were, perhaps, more valuable.

During a raid Wednesday night, police recovered more than 5,000 doses of ecstasy, 1,500 Opana pills, heroin, marijuana, a gun and cash.

Five people operating out of the home were arrested, as well as a sixth person accused of selling drugs from the nearby Inn Town Suites motel.

Neighbors say despite driving a Bentley, the lady of the house, Mahogany Calvin, tried to pass herself off as an entrepreneur.

“She did haircuts and came around and put flyers in our mailboxes a couple of times,” said Albrecht. “She walked up to us and asked us to bring our kids up to get their hair cut. “

Tonight, no more haircuts and no more drugs will be sold from 4215 Brook Farm Place thanks to the arrests.

The cops who shut the operation down are getting plenty of thanks, even applause from neighbors.
