MINNESOTA (WHAS11) -- A high school principal in Minnesota is looking to ban leggings when they're worn without something elset to help cover the tight-fitting "pants."

Principal Dave Adney said he understands they're comfortable but would like the girls to wear something to cover up more of their body.

He said the way girls are wearing spandex is changing and it is distracting.

"You are not evil if you wear spandex, that's not the word I want out there. It’s just kind of a body suit kind of look which is hard to study algebra during the day, every day it's distracting to a wide variety of boys and girls in school," Adney said.

The school board has yet to take up the matter.
