JACKSON CO., Ind. (WHAS11) -- Police in Jackson County  have reopened a section of Interstate 65 south that was shut down for several hours after a milk tanker truck overturned Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. at mm 38.5 in Jackson County. Police said when they arrived on the scene the driver, 43-year-old Tracy Ogden of Austin, was alert and conscious but trapped in the vehicle.

Police said Vernon Township and Seymour fire departments worked for approximately two hours to free Ogden from the wreckage.  Ogden was treated at the scene and flown to University of Louisville Hospital where he remains hospitalized with injuries to his lower extremities and a laceration to his head.

According to a press release, Ogden was hauling milk for Brian Scott Bruce Trucking in Jeffersonville and another tanker was brought in and the milk was transferred from the wrecked tanker.
