LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- An employee at Metro Louisville Animal Services is recovering after being attacked by dogs at the shelter on Manslick Road.
Officials say an animal care specialist was trying to fix a sliding door that separates the dogs from the kennel and the outside when two dogs bit her.
A Humane Society worker who happened to be on scene was also bitten. Both victims were taken to the hospital, but were released shortly after.
The two pit bulls that were involved in the attack have been put down.
