LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It was one year ago on Monday when a Shelbyville, Ky. teenager was shot and killed by police inside his grandmother's home.
Trey Williams' family has filed a lawsuit against the city and the police department, and on Monday, the teen's family and supporters held a memorial march calling for justice.
Police came to the home on Clifton Court after they received a call of a man acting strangely and trying to break in to a home with a pipe.
Police say Williams became aggressive and they were forced to shoot.
This past January a grand jury cleared the two officers of any wrong doing. The federal lawsuit was filed Friday, Nov. 16, and it names the city, the police department, police chief, and the two officers involved.
