Steve Wood, Sr. says he just got home from work, he and his family were getting ready to eat dinner. Then came a knock on the door that would change his life forever.

Five people have been charged in connection with the murder of Diana Wood and Steve Wood, Jr. Four of them were in court Wednesday. Marcus Greene pleaded not guilty to two murder charges.

His bond is set at $1 million. Zachary Kilgore, also charged with murder, has $1 million bond. Laquita Townsend is charged with complicity to murder.

And Dacica Greene is charged with tampering with evidence. She allegedly took a gun from her husband Marcus Greene and hid it with a co-worker at a daycare.

Steve Wood Senior couldn't find words to describe his emotions and life after his wife and son were killed before his eyes.

"I don't really know what to tell you for anyone to know how I really feel. Just happened so sudden," said Steve Wood, Sr.

But he says the more he thinks about those moments just before 5:00 Thursday afternoon, he realizes the suspects, Laquita Townsend, Marcus Greene and Zachary Kilgore, had planned everything. He and his family were ambushed and it started with a knock on the door, allegedly by Laquita Townsend.

"That knock at the door... that knock at the door. They shot my wife in the mouth, they shot my son five times in the back," he said.

He says Townsend started an argument with his son outside of their apartment. So he walked outside to tell his son to come back inside. He says his wife, Diana, came to the door on her cane to see what was going on.

"The more I thought about it, the guy in the back was already back there. These guys already had our home surrounded. She fooled us into coming out. And that's how they were able to shoot my wife in there," he said.

"Everything was set up. She went over there and jump in the car, he went over there and jumped in the vehicle. There's cameras on every vehicle. What were they thinking about anyway?"

And just like that, it was over. He lost his wife, his "real love" that he's known since they were teenagers. And he lost his son, his namesake.

"They slaughtered them! They slaughtered them! Why didn't they just even shoot me?"

"I missed her waking up this morning. I looked for her this morning. And then it just dons on me, I'm never going to wake up to her again, they've taken that from me."

Steve Wood, Sr. and his family say they don't want anyone to retaliate in this situation. He says these arrests and charges mean he can get some sleep. He said he and his family were so nervous because of that knock on the door.
