LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It was graduation day for Metro Louisville's newest paramedics.

On May 21, 12 paramedics got their certificates from Mayor Greg Fischer at Metro Hall.

The 12 graduated from the Metro EMS Paramedic Training Academy.

The ten EMTs and two Harrods Creek firefighters were picked after an intense audition process to take part in the academy.

The academy was funded through the Mayor's budget last year.
