(WHAS11) -- Johnson Controls, a Louisville manufacturing plant, has announced a major round of layoffs.
The company filed a notice today with the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training that they will lay off up to 392 workers.
The Milwaukee based Johnson Controls facility produces injection molded interior parts for automobiles.
A spokeswoman from the company says it's an extremely competitive market and they have what she called an "excess capacity" in their interiors business.
Workers say they were gathered in an employee break room on Monday and told that they might be losing their jobs.
The mass layoff notice was filed Friday with the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.
WHAS11 has learned the plant will close in February.
