LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- -   On Thursday the Little Caesars ‘Love Kitchen’  made a stop in downtown Louisville at the Cathedral of the Assumption to deliver hot pizzas to the homeless.

The ‘Love Kitchen’ is a pizza kitchen, on wheels, and it traverses the United States and Canada to meet the needs of the homeless, hungry and victims of disaster.

The kitchen has fed more than two million people in the last 28 years.

Mike Michalak, a Little Caesar franchise owner in Louisville, said the pizza company’s owner started the program in the 80’s to give back to the communities.

“They provide the truck, we provide the food and workers to make it all happen so it’s kind of a group effort,” he said.

The ‘Love Kitchen’ will be in Louisville until Sunday and is expected to serve nearly 2,000 meals.
