LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A lawsuit has been filed against a newly elected board member for Jefferson County Public Schools.

It claims his business ventures are a conflict of interest with the school board position.

Attorney Ted Gorden filed the lawsuit against David Jones Junior on Friday.

The suit was brought forth by a concerned citizen who lives in Jones' district. Jones is a major shareholder and on the board at Humana, the company his father helped found.

The lawsuit claims Humana provides health insurance for all JCPS employees which means millions in profits for Humana and Jones.

We are waiting for a statement from Jones.
