(WHAS11) -- Lady Gaga's mother Cynthia Germanotta says students should  take action if they see bullying, not just be bystanders. Germanotta delivered that message at the Third Annual Bullying Prevention Summit in Washington Wednesday.

At the Summit she gave a first hand account of what bullying did to her daughter. WHAS11 correspondent Sue Turner has the full story, click on the video player above.

Lady Gaga and her mother started a foundation to stop bullying called Born this Way. Lady Gaga is taking her foundation on a bus tour next year called born brave nation. She will stop in 30 cities.
