LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Kentucky and Indiana will not lower tolls for low income and minority drivers on the Ohio River bridges.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says a draft report rejects discounting tolls and giving credit to low-income people who cross the bridge on a regular basis.

The report says it would be difficult to monitor who should receive credits.

Work has already begun on the massive project to build two new bridges across the Ohio and reconfigure Spaghetti Junction in downtown Louisville.

The states have already made initial commitments to lessen the impacts of tolls by providing $20 million to TARC to provide enhanced bus service across the river.

The project wants your input on the report. Click here to leave your comment about the report. You can also go to two open house meetings set for July 22 and 23.
