LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- This weekend there will be plenty to celebrate with the Kentucky Derby, but there will also be an event to address a serious issue in the community. It’s all about compassion and a celebrity is coming in to be a part of the event.

Organizer Christopher 2X stopped by the WHAS11 studio to talk about this weekend’s events and how you can get involved.

Compassion basketball camp is Sat., May 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YMCA on W. Chestnut Street. The camp is for children ages 6 to 14.

Also in May, a day of remembrance on the 18: The walk begins at 32nd and Broadway.
