LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--  When some people first see Kevin Silva’s collection of Batman memorabilia, they drop to their knees out of amazement and respect.

They say, ‘oh my god,’ as their eyes browse more than 2,500 figurines, lunch boxes capes, utility belts and much more.

Silva, 52, began his collection after getting hooked on the show in the 1960s, and now he is recognized as having the largest accumulation of Batman collectibles in the world.

He even has the certificate to prove it.

He said the collection has been appraised and is worth an estimated $100,000, which, he said, is much more than he has spent on the collection.
