BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- People lined the streets and packed a Bardstown church for an emotional funeral of a 33-year-old police officer gunned down on a highway exit ramp.

The coffin of Jason Ellis was draped in an American flag as speakers took to the podium.

Ellis was shot to death early Saturday morning on his way home from work.

Huge crowds of people gathered to support the fallen hero and his family.

WHAS11's Adam Walser spoke with people along the procession route.
