Humane society gives tips to keep pets safe during cold temperatures

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--  The Kentucky Humane Society is encouraging pet owners to take the needed steps during the cold weather to ensure their furry friends stay safe and warm.

According to statements from the humane society, it is best to keep walks short and wipe off your pet’s feet after they come in from outside, due to harmful de-icing salt used on roadways and sidewalks.
