(PRESS RELEASE/WHAS11) -- Interstate 265 opened in both directions at  around 10:30 p.m. Thursday after crews repaired downed power lines.

Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) was temporarily closed in both directions due to power lines being down across the roadway.  LG&E crews were on the scene repairing the power lines.

I-265 was closed at KY 22, Brownsboro Road exit, and at KY 146, La Grange Road exit, for about two hours.  Traffic was detoured off the interstate at those exits.

An officer at the scene said the downed power lines were not caused by an accident, but that they just came loose. The only neighborhood affected by this was Indiana Hills.
