LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A one million dollar face-lift is what the Grand Ballroom at the Galt House Hotel got recently.
“Well the carpet that we're standing on is brand new. All of the wall decor, all of the wallpaper and facade in the ballroom and everything out here is brand new,” Terry Jenks, general manager of the Galt House Hotel, said.
Construction crews were on site Tuesday, Feb. 19, taking down the drapes that framed the mirrors in the ballroom and replacing them with custom woodworking made in Floyds Knobs.
In addition to the new carpet, wallpaper, lighting and security doors the exhibit hall and the grand foyer are also getting the face-lift. The Galt House is owned by the Schneider family of Louisville.
