LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It was 1979 and the fate of a major project, called the Galleria, in downtown Louisville was up in the air. You know it today as 4th Street Live.
The fight over tearing down one historic building set off a huge fight until one defining voice stepped in.
The building that started the ruckus was the original "Courier-Journal" building, built in 1876. The high Victorian Gothic showpiece stood on the corner of 4th and Liberty.
