LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Fire crews in Kentucky were very busy Monday night into Tuesday morning as three homes went up in flames.

WHAS11's Johnny Archer is still on the scene of a blaze that broke out in a home on Second Street early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to the 4100 block of S. Second Street around 1 a.m. and they were able to contain the fire to one home.

Apparently, the homeowners smelled smoke, went to the attic to check a space heater and found the attic in flames, firefighters said.

No in juries have been reported, but the home did sustain heavy damage.

Firefighters responded to two other fires overnight - one on Bolling Avenue and another on Powell Avenue.
