LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- There's a big birthday underway this year that you may not realize and it's the focus of our Friday Flashback.
The Brown Hotel at 4th and Broadway is 90-years-old this year.
The hotel is often mentioned in the top travel magazines as one of the best hotels in the country. But in 1971, times were tough, and the Brown closed. The board of education bought it and turned it into offices for fifteen years.
On January 11, 1985 it reopened, and WHAS11 was there, click on video player above.
