LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The FFA convention is entering the third day and many of the young future farmers participated in a community service project Friday.

Volunteers from 13 states work with the Kids Against Hunger organization to package thousands of meals that will be distributed to children in need. Half of those meals will stay right here in Kentuckiana and the other half will be shipped to Haiti.

Kids Against Hunger organizers said the emphasis of this year’s convention is how U.S. agriculture can have an impact around the world.
