LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- One of Kentucky's most wanted fugitives has been returned to the state after being arrested earlier this year in Wyoming.
Kentucky State Police Maj. Mike Crawford told WKYT-TV that John C. Buckley IV was booked into the Fayette County jail Tuesday night after being flown back to the state.
Police say he had fought his extradition since his arrest at a hotel in Laramie, Wyo., in May.
Buckley walked away from a Fayette County courthouse shortly before being convicted last July of rape and assault.
Police say he faces new charges of jumping bail, tampering with a monitoring device and contempt of court. He is expected to make a court appearance later in the week.
