LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The blasting continues in eastern Jefferson County to create the tunnel that will lead to the East End Ohio River Bridge.
The blasts will continue on a regular basis.
Some homeowners turned out to watch and listen for the blasts on Friday, Aug. 2.
Traffic was stopped on the Gene Snyder and U.S. 42, for five to 20 minutes prior to the underground explosions for the safety of drivers and the workers.
The blasting next week switches to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Homeowners will be hearing the explosions in different places right up until 2015.
