LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- For the first time Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer is revealing details about the night he was allegedly attacked.
In a statement Meyer said:
“This is the first time since being back from Afghanistan that I have been in fear for my life... Hopefully a lesson can be learned, and this can be a stepping stone to making our community safer."
On Thursday Kentucky State Police arrested Kanissa'a Thompson for attacking Meyer near Lindsey Wilson College in Adair County.
The fight happened late Saturday night and Meyer had to receive several staples in his head, but is back home on Friday night.
