Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) – The outcome of the race for Kentucky’s 37th state senate district will not be known until after the votes are in.

Judge Charles Cunningham says he needs more time and more information to decide whether republican candidate Chris Thieneman lives in the 37th district.

A lawsuit disputing his residency was filed last month.

The judge is now asking to review Thieneman’s utility bills from a Brownsboro Road condo that is not in the district and the apartment that’s inside the district.

In a press conference Saturday afternoon, Thieneman said he’s working to get the documents.

“I know that we’re legit and we’re real. I will not sleep to get all the information that he wants. It’s up to him. I’ll get him all the information,” Thieneman said.

Voters will be able to vote for Thieneman on Election Day but the judge has ordered the votes cannot be certified until after his final ruling.
