Welcome to this week's The411.  The Kids Art Academy at the Louisville Central Community Center is rehearsing for their trip to New York.

With just weeks left before their Big Apple trip in April they have been giving the community a taste of H.A.R.L.E.M. (How Artists Reflected the Lifestyle and Experiences of the Movement) at the LCCC Cotton Club.  Students in grades one through eleven were introduced to the Harlem Renaissance through an educational workshop.  After getting instruction, they're showcasing legendary talents like Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne and Langston Hughes.  Now, students want to experience Harlem, New York to see where it all started.

If you would like to support this wonderful group of kids at the Louisville Central Community Center call 502-693-1416.

The University of Kentucky's Opera Theatre Department and Alltech is hosting the fifth annual vocal scholarship competition.  The competition awards over $300 hundred thousand in scholarships and stipends.  It all takes place at Singletary Center for the Arts Concert Hall on March 14th from two to five p-m.  For additional information there's a link provided.
It's time to start thinking Derby....We are just weeks away from the greatest two minutes in sports.  If you have an event send it to
That wraps up this week’s The411.  I’m Sherlene Shanklin with WHAS11 News.
